Herd of Traditional Free Range Pigs and Home to our Poultry within the North Yorkhire Moors National Park
Welcome to our website. We are a small 14 acre rare and tradional breeds farm set within the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park. We uphold the highest standards of husbandry so all our animals are happy and healthy, fed on the best quality natural diet. We breed Old Spots, Welsh and Pietrain pigs, with the recent addition of our Pedigree Pietrain stock we will shortly be supplying Birth Notified Pietrain pigs, be sure to check back here for updates.
We adopt traditional farming methods, keeping the traditional breeds going by producing Birth Notified Pedigree stock for future breeding purposes. We do not aspire to become a commercial farming unit, we choose to work with traditional breed pigs to promote their establishment within the countryside. Our breeding pigs are outdoors for most of the year, we bring them indoors and farrow them in purpose built loose boxes with a creep area for the piglets, they all have plenty of room to exercise and we keep the piglets with their mothers for eight weeks, giving them the best start in life as nature intended. Our Pedigree Old Spot Sows are excellent mothers and we have high rates of success with minimal need for medical treatment intervention. Happy healthy pigs that have a first class lifestyle. Here is the opportunity to get involved in something special, leave us to all the hard work for you on our farm and sponsor your piglet from two-weeks old right the way through to maturity. We will send you photos of how your pig(s) are getting on, then when they are ready we will send the pigs to our local butchery to prepare the finest traditional Pork cuts for you. We will also make a selection of very tasty sausages for your Traditional Pork pack, with a variety of different flavors to choose from as well as Smoked/Un smoked Bacon, delivered to your door all inclusive.

- It costs £195 and you are paying for your pig, its feed and when its ready, the processing and packing costs.

All our pigs are fed on the highest quality GM free natural cereal diet, they get to forage in grass paddocks during the Spring, Summer and Autumn months, then they are brought inside during the cold Winter months as they do not like the harsh weather. Our pigs get loads of apples from our apple trees around the farm and live a happy life. We believe that their well being accounts for such exquisite tasting Traditional Pork. When our pigs are inside they are given plenty of room to play around and they are kept very clean on good quality Barley straw which makes excellent roughage as the pigs also eat the fresh bedding. Pigs are very clean animals, they go to the toilet in the same spot and we clean out each week.

We breed our own free range chickens and sell the hens on at Point of Lay to local smallholder's, farmers and poultry enthusiasts wanting good quality free range egg layers.

Turkeys and Geese
  
We rear a few free range Turkeys and Geese for Christmas, as well as supplying Norfolk Black and Bronze Turkey Poults to other local smallholder's, poultry enthusiasts and those that want to fatten their own Christmas Turkey. We take orders on our own free range Christmas Goose and Turkey via another web site that opens its doors to a small number of customers in June. You may place your Christmas Goose or Turkey order in advance from June 08.
Sheep
We can supply Blue Faced Leicester, Suffolk and Mule Ewes through a local friend who has a flock of 500 excellent quality sheep. Livestock transport within a five-hour radius of North Yorkshire can be arranged at additional cost. Contact Us for Details.
